Shiftable Belt Conveyor Systems

Shiftable Belt Conveyor Systems

In open pit mining, continuous haulage of coal and overburden by conveyor belts is the key to profitability. To follow mining face advancement and constantly shifting backfilling overburden operations, the conveyor systems need to be periodically repositioned.

For this intricate process, thyssenkrupp first developed the shiftable-type belt conveyor system way back in the 1950s. Since then, with this concept finding acceptance in the global mining industry, thyssenkrupp has maintained its leadership position in shiftable belt conveyor systems.

thyssenkrupp manufactures a wide range of pulleys, ranging from light to heavy duty capacities.

thyssenkrupp also manufactures extra heavy duty pulleys which can operate at very high belt tensions. These are mainly gearless drive pulleys, which are used for conveyors working on gearless drive technology, where drive power ranges above 3500 KW.
